My Realization - We Are SAVED!!
After my last blog on 'Purgatory' I got many wonderful and amazing comments but one comment inspired and motivated me for a new struggle, for a new answer - Hence my new blog.
The question was simple. Here it goes in those exact words.
The question was simple. Here it goes in those exact words.
"Jesus died to pay the penalty for all of our sins (Romans 5:8). Isaiah 53:5 declares, “But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed.” Jesus suffered for our sins so that we could be delivered from suffering. To say that we must also suffer for our sins is to say that Jesus’ suffering was insufficient. To say that we must atone for our sins by cleansing in Purgatory is to deny the sufficiency of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus (1 John 2:2). The idea that we have to suffer for our sins after death is contrary to everything the Bible says about salvation."
This comment made me think and ponder over it, as it repeatedly kept striking in my mind. I didn't doubt on my faith but I had to find an answer to that question. The Catholic Church teaches it but again I kept telling myself 'in writing'. Because that is what I have always heard. So I started to read and look for an answer in writing. So here is an answer that I found according to my thoughts and understanding. So here it is.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed.
Each word had a deeper meaning to relate a deeper thought and scenario
Transgression - an act that goes against a law, rule, or code of conduct - which can be marked as the time, when Adam ate the fruit which was forbidden to eat. Hence he goes against a law;
Iniquities - immoral or grossly unfair behaviour - which we can say is the disobedience, the blame game; causing sin to rule over humanity.
Healed from wounds- but from what wounds, which wounds and mainly when was it afflicted on us?
So here we come down to some words and many of my questions which made me search for their answers.

So here we come down to some words and many of my questions which made me search for their answers.
So to begin with; I'll start with SIN. I would like to call it here as transgression as it's an act that goes against a law, rule, or code of conduct which were laid down by God. According to 2 Corinthians 5:21 Christ was without sin, but for our sake God made him share our sin in order that in union with him we might share the righteousness of God.
Ok, so that sin was not shared because Jesus was there before Man was created or before he sinned and he came down from Heaven which we read in John 1:2,14 From the very beginning the Word was with God. The Word became a human being and, full of grace and truth, lived among us. Hence The Word i.e Jesus was without the sin. So here on I had some series of questions for which I was searching for answers.
Let's begin with my questions:-
Q.1 Who Sinned?
Adam the first man and the father of all mankind; disobeyed God which means went against a rule or law made by God which can be called as transgression. So here when we read.
Romans 5:12 Sin came into the world through one man, and his sin brought death with it. As a result, death has spread to the whole human race because everyone has sinned.
So here we read that the First man sinned i.e Adam sinned and the consequence was 'DEATH' coming in picture.
Q.2 Which Sin?
Transgression was when Man broke the law and inequity followed when he ate it which we read in;
Genesis 3:17 And he said to the man, “You listened to your wife and ate the fruit which I told you not to eat.
That sin is the sin spread on human race which we read in Romans 5:14,19 But from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, death ruled over all human beings, even over those who did not sin in the same way that Adam did when he disobeyed God's command. Adam was a figure of the one who was to come. And just as all people were made sinners as the result of the disobedience of one man, in the same way they will all be put right with God as the result of the obedience of the one man.
So to analyse the outcome - the transgression & iniquity was the result of the First sin that man committed for which we lost paradise and we were sent away from the presence of God. So to reunite us back in heaven the heavy price was paid by God's only son i.e. Jesus Christ himself; which we read in; Romans 5:19 And just as all people were made sinners as the result of the disobedience of one man, in the same way they will all be put right with God as the result of the obedience of the one man.
During my search and reading to find an appropriate answer that would feel satisfactory even when seen in a different historic way. I found something amazing. If we analyse closer to look into the change of time or age, we would see that the history has been divided in two parts. The age BC and the age AD. To begin I'll start with the terms of these abbreviations. The terms Anno Domini (AD) and Before Christ (BC). The word 'Before Christ' is understood as it denotes an era which was before the birth of Christ. Now the term 'Anno Domini' is Medieval Latin and the full original phrase is "Anno Domini Nostri Jesu Christi", which translates to English as "In The Year Of Our Lord Jesus Christ". So here we see that the era is being divided into two to the time of before and after the birth of Jesus Christ. So here I understood that death i.e can be called as judgement or punishment as it's also is said to happen over all human beings even those who never sinned.
Now the question why so?
It was our first father who sinned so the same was passed on to the children. Now we read in 1 John 4:16 God is love. If God is love then he won't unnecessarily punish his children who did not know anything about the incident and whom he loves so much. So the answer was John 3:16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life. This is where I read again Romans 5:14 But from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, death ruled over all human beings, even over those who did not sin in the same way that Adam did when he disobeyed God's command. Adam was a figure of the one who was to come. So now there was a requirement of a man like Adam i.e a man who was not born out of human desires and especially born without sin as Adam was made without sin. A perfect human without sin. So now according to Luke 1:35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and God's power will rest upon you. For this reason the holy child will be called the Son of God. Mary was conceived by the power of holy spirit which was also revealed to Joseph which we read in Matthew 1:20 While he was thinking about this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, descendant of David, do not be afraid to take Mary to be your wife. For it is by the Holy Spirit that she has conceived. So here it's understood that Jesus was born without sin. 2 Corinthians 5:21 Christ was without sin, but for our sake God made him share our sin in order that in union with him we might share the righteousness of God. So here's where we see the abundant love of God when he made Jesus his only son to share our sin, so that we can share his righteousness if we are in union with him i.e if we are pure and without sin like Jesus.
So now we can say that Christ paid the price for the first sin of man. But because of that first sin many sins followed and made humanity live in a world of sin.
That's the reason why when Jesus Christ came into the world, he didn't preach about a new religion or a new God but rather repentance which we read in Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach his message: “Turn away from your sins, because the Kingdom of heaven is near!” Jesus knew all along what was the task that was entrusted to him which we read in John 10:18 No one takes my life away from me. I give it up of my own free will. I have the right to give it up, and I have the right to take it back. This is what my Father has commanded me to do.” So the sin which we knew nothing about nor we were a part of it was borne by Jesus willingly to save us which is briefed in 1 Peter 2:24 Christ himself carried our sins in his body to the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness. It is by his wounds that you have been healed.
So now as the First sin was wiped away, the sin we now commit are our own choice and out of our own understanding for which we do have to pay the fine. But here again the love of God for his children was more which opened a way of grace for us. Romans 5:20 Law was introduced in order to increase wrongdoing; but where sin increased, God's grace increased much more. But that is not a license to sin, but it comes through true repentance which we learn in Hebrews 4:16 Let us have confidence, then, and approach God's throne, where there is grace. There we will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it. So only if we have a real repentant heart can we approach God's throne for grace and mercy as in Proverbs 28:13 You will never succeed in life if you try to hide your sins. Confess them and give them up; then God will show mercy to you. Which is why the Catholic Church gives us the Sacrament of confession; to repent and wash away our sins.
Let us have a repentant heart asking and praying for his mercy and grace to enjoy in God's presence of eternal bliss.
This is the answer that I found regarding the existence and requirement of Purgatory, I do not know if my explanation is correct or not.
